The home was built in the 40s but recently purchased and fliipped. The home sold back in April for $1,150,000 and now on the market for $1,995,000. We think the home is well priced for the condition and view despite the recent sale price (not sure how the owner purchased for such a low price as $1,150,000 is below land value)
The home has been reimagined with changes and upgrades throughout. New engineered wood flooring ties the space nicely together and gives it great flow. The kitchen and bathrooms have been remodeled with a nice coastal look. Outdoor spaces have also been updated with a great backyard patio and actual yard.

This is, no doubt the big home sale of the month in both the Hollywood Riviera and Redondo Beach. In fact it was the top sale of the month in all of the South Bay and Palos Verdes. It was listed by Josh and Matthew Altman of the TV “Altman Brothers” fame.
It’s clear that they were looking for and hoping a big profit when they listed it for $26,995,000 towards the end of 2022 but ended up selling at a significant loss.
The home(s) had reduced the price a number of times as well as pulling it off and putting it back on….often at a higher price than it had previously been.
The last price when it returned to the market in the spring of 2023 was $18,900,000
This is an impossible to duplicate property on the beachfront/oceanfront street of Paseo Del La Playa in the Hollywood Riviera. The impossible to duplicate combination of oceanfront location, huge 1.4 acre (we don’t generally talk in acres in the South Bay) lot that extends to the sand below and two homes making it a true showcase estate. There’s nothing else like it on the South Bay.
The property actually consisted of 2 distinct homes….the main home with 5 bedrooms and 8 total baths, and the “guest” home with 5 bedrooms and 7 total baths. Both homes are high on the bluff with unbeatable and unblockable ocean, PV and coastline views. The properties have stairs down to the beach below which is also a challenge to duplicate due to very restrictive California Coastal Commision restrictions.
While this was a huge sale and a fantastic purchase, it’s likely the sellers and listing agents were pretty happy to put this in the rear view mirror.

For those looking to live life like it’s a vacation this is a pretty good place to start.
The single level condo offers some ocean views and features 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and over 1,300 square feet.
The condo itself could use some cosmetic love as everything is clean and well maintained but pretty original and likely not to the current tastes of current buyers with tile floors, fairly original kitchens and baths, etc., but given that the last 2 sales had no views and were priced at $1,000,000 and $1,250,000 we think this one will probably sell pretty quickly.
Although built in 1962 the complex itself is well maintained and the ocean front location on the bluff is tough to beat. Even for units with no views it’s about 20 seconds to the edge of the bluff and stunning views, smells and sounds. The complex has a very nice pool and clubhouse areas and plenty of open space.
HOA dues have gone up considerably in the past few years but that’s unfortunately the norm these days and it’s rare to find a complex where dues haven’t been on the rise.
