There were some very big home sales during August in the Hollywood Riviera but none bigger than the $3,325,000 sales price of 109 Via La Soledad. Perched on an elevated lot this was a beautifully remodeled single family home with a Cape Cod inspiration. The home had a wonderful coastal feel and offered big ocean views and a very nice sized yard.

417 & 421 Paseo De La Playa is a wow legacy type property (well actually 2 houses) at a wow price. The previous sale of this property back in February of 2018 at $22,650,000 set a record at the time for a single family home in the South Bay. Currently listed at $22,995,000 we’ve already seen a very significant price drop from the original $26,995,000 price it was originally listed for in December.
There really is nothing like this in the South Bay. As described by the listing agent this is truly a “compound” type feel and a true legacy home. Consisting of two distinct free standing homes, combined they offer approximately 15,728 square feet on a massive 62,757 square foot oceanfront lot that extends to the sand and offers direct beach access down a trail. The main home features 5 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, with the second “guest” house featuring 5 bedrooms and 7 baths.
Beyond the view, the outdoor amenities include an incredible pool and spa, fire area and even a private beach volleyball court.
After a hiatus off of the market since August of 2020 the beachfront home at 505 Paseo De La Playa is back on the market. It had been on the market during the summer of 2020 listed at $5,500,000 at the time.
With a home like this you’re definitely paying for location as it’s a fairly original home but the location just can’t be beat. The last sale of something fairly similar was 529 Paseo De La Playa which was a 4 bed, 3 bath single family home with a bit under 3200 feet that sold at $5,650,000.
505 Paseo De La Playa offers the same specs with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, and the same 3,179 square feet. The lot on 505 is a bit larger and extends all the way to the beach, but the home at 529 had done significant work to the bluff at a pretty marjor cost.
Take a look at the photos and details of this oceanfront home on Paseo De La Playa of the Hollywood Riviera. Listed at $14,900,000. The home has been on and off the market for years dating all the way back to 2011.
The latest beachfront offering, located at 529 Paseo De La Playa never even made it to the market before selling. This was a fairly original home but was unique in a few ways including the extensive work done to the hillside allowing for a permitted walkway down to the beach.
The home itself has lots of potential and a great flat backyard area with incredible views. The home hit the market at $5,800,000 and offered 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and just under 3,200 square feet of living space on a huge (although typical for the homes on the west side of the street) 22,000 foot lot that extends down to the sand.
This is one of our absolute favorite locations in the South Bay.
While this home is in need of some updating to truly make it a legacy home, the basics are all here.
One of the best locations in Southern California…..check.
Endless ocean views……check
A lot that extends all the way to the sand……check
425 Paseo De La Playa is one of those rare legacy type homes. Perched on the bluffs above Torrance Beach, the home offers incredible and unblockable ocean views. The 28,000+ sq foot lot is unheard of in the South Bay and as with all of the homes along the west side of Paseo, the lots extend all the way to the beach, but this home has an enormous amount of land in front of the home as well. The gated entry and true estate feel make for endless possibilities.
